As an active audio engineer in the field, I am fortunate enough to have access to practically any tool I could possibly need.  There are many incredible choices available for computer-based recording these days, and again I am fortunate to have access to all of them.  But when it comes to my own audio production needs---my personal system of choice is Pro Tools, specifically a Pro Tools HD3 Accel with a 192I/O interface and Control24.  As I see it, no other DAW provides such a complete system as Pro Tools by giving me STABILITY, RELIABILITY, COMPATIBILITY, a highly sophisticated level of AUTOMATION, SAMPLE-ACCURATE resolution with ALL PLUGINS including REAL TIME, LATENCY-FREE monitoring, as well as ACCURATE SUMMING and AUDIO FIDELITY.

As a Sr. Sales Engineer for Sweetwater, I am one of the top Pro Tools, ICON, and VENUE system designers in the field.  If you are considering any Pro Tools product please, I urge you to contact me toll-free at (800)222-4700 x1362  -or- CLICK HERE to email me directly.

There are quite a few myths about Pro Tools LE both in what it is as well as what it is not.  I mean the software is called “LE” or “Light Edition” so it must be a scaled-back program that is entry-level or for the non-professional, right?  WRONG, WAY WRONG!!  Although it is technically a “light edition” of the Pro Tools software, the reality is that Pro Tools LE (PTLE) has many of the same features found in the much more expensive TDM systems, such as Pro Tools HD, but gets all of its processing power from the internal CPU processor of your Macintosh/Windows computer as opposed to dedicated DSP cards that handle the processing.  This is known as “Native Processing” where the computer handles ALL processing.

While Pro Tools LE clearly has some distinct, and in some cases “major”, differences from a Pro Tools HD system--clearly I tell you that PTLE is absolutely without question a professional level system that has the full editing capability as a high-end system, has the largest selection of professional grade plugins, guarantees compatibility in virtually every recording studio in the world and undoubtedly gives even the home hobbyist a level of sophistication that is easy to learn and use that other products in a similar price point just can’t provide.  While Pro Tool isn’t for everyone, it is affordable enough for anyone.  If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact me via email or call toll-free at (800)222-4700 extension 1362
